Test Prep

We were the best kept secret in test prep, but the word about us is spreading rapidly. We have been helping students surpass their MCAT, DAT, GRE, ACT, SAT, and PSAT score goals across the country.

With the Praxis Method, students learn to recognize multiple pathways to answering standardized test questions as well as school test questions. By mastering our fluid strategy, students learn to solve problems in a way that best aligns with their unique abilities. This approach produces amazing results for students just beginning their test prep as well as students who are wanting to take their scores to the next level.

Why do our students have high success rates

We promote consistent weekly tutoring schedules for standardized test prep to keep test practice routine and maintain momentum with strategy and content. We also guide students in maintaining momentum between sessions in their own practice periods.

Also, our strategy work-up books for standardized tests continuously build on strategy and content with assignments, quizzes, tests, and supplemental topic-focus notes and practice questions, thus maintaining momentum with “aha!” moments, improvements, and success.

what makes Our Test Prep Approach different…

1. We will ask more questions than you will while you are engaged in practice test questions. The questions we ask are the types of questions you need to ask yourself in order to answer test questions.

2. We will not readily answer your questions, while you are engaged in practice test questions. We guide you with strategy to help you answer your own questions and then answer the test question itself.

3. We will show you alternate approaches to answering questions whether you choose the correct or incorrect answer.

4. We will work with your first thoughts about approaching and answering questions.

5. We will let you hit roadblocks, and then guide you into alternate approaches.

6. We don’t care about right or wrong answers during test practice; we care about replicable approach and process for finding correct answers on the actual test.

7. With our Don’t Think Too Much approach and strategy, we will train you to become independently successful on test, and your timing will naturally improve, and in effect, your confidence will naturally increase!

Test Prep Scheduling

Based on our experience and success, we recommend maintaining a test prep schedule of 2 hours per week (2 days per week, 1 hour per day, with at least one day in between) for all tests up to test day. Recommended prep time for each test:

  • SSAT: 24 Hours Total; 12 Weeks

  • SAT/PSAT/ACT: 24–32 Hours Total; 12–16 Weeks

  • GRE: 28–32 Hours Total; 14–16 Weeks

  • DAT: 40–48 Hours Total; 20–24 Weeks

  • MCAT: 32–48 Hours Total; 20–24 Weeks

Hours may vary if student or parents request more or if it is determined by the tutor that more time is required to review and improve content.

We treat test prep like training for a sports game or a recital. To ensure improvements and high scores, we strongly suggest maintaining consistent weekly tutoring sessions and routine self-study/practice between sessions, including a minimum of 4–6 full-length practice tests, up until test day. To win a sports game or wow a recital audience, we must attend all practice sessions and work out and practice in between as well as simulate game or recital day… the same is true for scoring high on standardized tests!
